Kuratr privacy

Cookies

Kuratr uses cookies to store information about your current session. This includes the tokens that allow Kuratr to use your account to interact with Spotify, and the type of Spotify account (free vs premium). Interacting with Spotify (logging in and playing audio) also results in Spotify setting cookies.

Spotify scopes

Logging in to Spotify requests you to approve the following permissions ("scopes"), for the following reasons:

playlist-modify-public
to export the playlist to Spotify
streaming
to play the relevant sound clips
user-read-email
this is required for the web player SDK; we never send you email, nor do we store your email address
user-read-private
to find out whether your account is a free or premium account, so that the appropriate playback controls can be shown
user-modify-playback-state
to play the relevant sound clips

Data stored

The Kuratr database stores information about the playlists that you create, and uses your Spotify username (not your email address) to associate those playlists with your account. No other personally identifiable information is stored in the database.

Location

The database and backups are currently stored in the UK and Ireland.
